  • Opened in 1980 in Los Angeles by Larry Gagosian, Gagosian Gallery is one of the world’s foremost modern and contemporary art galleries. With the new addition of the San Francisco Gallery in May 2016 there are sixteen galleries worldwide in New York, Beverly Hills, London, Rome, Athens, Paris, Geneva, and Hong Kong. World-renowned architects of these galleries include Richard Gluckman (New York), Richard Meier (Beverly Hills), and Caruso St. John (London, Rome, Paris (in collaboration with Jean-François Bodin). Over the last three decades, Gagosian has presented an unparalleled program of exhibitions by the world’s most acclaimed artists, including Francis Bacon, Joseph Beuys, Jean Michel Basquiat, Constantin Brancusi, Cecily Brown, Walter De Maria, Douglas Gordon, Arshile Gorky, Andreas Gursky, Richard Hamilton, Howard Hodgkin, Yves Klein, Jeff Koons, Roy Lichtenstein, Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso, Richard Prince, Ed Ruscha, Jenny Saville, Richard Serra, David Smith, Rudolf Stingel, Cy Twombly, Andy Warhol, Franz West, Rachel Whiteread, and Christopher Wool. These exhibitions, which have placed Gagosian at the forefront of contemporary art, are accompanied by beautifully designed, scholarly catalogues and monographs.
